Chuni stone is the Bengali name for ruby, also known as manik stone or kempu. It is a precious deep red gemstone that belongs to corundum mineral family. Often called the “King of Gemstones” Ruby has a hardness of 9 on mohs scale, which makes it very durable for jewelry. Because of its rich color and shine, it is widely used in rings, pendants and other ornaments.
