Chrysoberyl Cat's Eye (Lehsunia)

Chrysoberyl Cats Eye, also called Cymophane or Lehsunia stone, is a strong and durable gemstone from chrysoberyl mineral family. It is known for its clear and bright chatoyancy, which looks like a moving line of light across the stone, similar to a cat’s eye. This effect is formed because of fine parallel rutile inclusions inside the gemstone. The stone usually appears in colors like yellowish-green, greenish-yellow, and honey-brown. Chrysoberyl Cat’s Eye is mainly found in Sri Lanka, Brazil, and India, and it is especially valued for its famous “milk and honey” effect that can be seen when the stone is moved under light.
