Madagascar Iolite is a high quality violet-blue gemstone from cordierite mineral family, mainly found in Bekily area of madagascar. It is popular for its rich color and good quality. Also known as “water sapphire” or “Viking Compass” this gemstone has a hardness of around 7 to 7.5 on the Mohs scale, which makes it suitable for regular wear in jewellery.
